Lymphoma is a blood cancer that attacks the immune system. COVID-19 infection is an incredibly great threat to patients with lymphoma. With limited access to protective equipment against the  corona virus, all medical staff attending to immunocompromised patients - doctors, nurses, paramedics - are currently facing even bigger dilemmas, owing to the dual risk of infection to both themselves and potentially those in their care. Let's help them protect themselves against the infection.

Due to the corona virus pandemic, such basic yet crucial protective equipment has been re-directed to infectious wards. Oncological hospitals, therefore, are currently suffering through a lack of these essentials.

We - the academic researchers and students in the Nature Conservation and Environmental Education Team at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of the Jagiellonian University - have decided to help. In the course of the progress of the pandemic, we strongly feel a need and duty to help those who, on a daily basis, protect the lives and health of the vulnerable. We have drawn up a list of places, contacted by us, where basic necessary protective products can be purchased and sent to both the lymphatic patients and the medical staff. The list is updated on a regular basis due to the ongoing purchases of the products that are available.

On 18 March 2020, we started collecting funds for this cause. On a daily basis, we donate all money collected to the Defeat Lymphoma Foundation, which supports hemato-oncological patients. We now want to take a step further, supporting the staff that help this Foundation during this difficult time! Funds obtained will be allocated to the purchase of basic protection equipment for those hospitals with hemato oncological wards in greatest need. Please, join/support  cause!
