Invitation to courses on the Ecology of Insects

Invitation to courses on the Ecology of Insects led by Prof. Ian Hardy from the University of Nottingham (UK)

Prof. Ian Hardy studies a range of topics within the fields of basic and applied behavioural and evolutionary ecology, including social behaviours, interspecific interactions, biological pest control, ecological consequences of insecticide use, etc. The organisms he has been studying include many species of insects (including parasitoid wasps, locusts, and crickets), as well as African birds of prey and scavengers, elephants and humans.

 

From 5th October to 21st December 2020, Prof. Hardy will be a guest of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and the Faculty of Biology and will teach two courses:

  • Insect Population Ecology in the Natural World (Basic Ecological Entomology):

5th October – 9th November, Mondays & Thursdays 16:30 – 18:45 [30 contact hours, 2 ECTS]

  • Humans and Entomology: Insect Population Ecology in the Anthropocene (Applied Ecological Entomology):

16th November – 17th December, Mondays & Thursdays 16:30 – 18:45 [30 contact hours, 2 ECTS]
